CBNB is BNB on the Canton Network. Each CBNB is backed 1:1 by BNB locked on BNB Chain, so Canton applications can hold, settle and move BNB with Canton's privacy model.
CBNB is minted only when BNB is locked on BNB Chain, and burned when it is unwrapped. The supply on Canton can never exceed the BNB held in the lock contract.
Deposit BNB through the Nuxaris bridge and the same amount of CBNB is minted to your Canton party. To unwrap, burn CBNB on Canton and the matching BNB is released to your BNB Chain address.
Nuxaris, the cross-chain bridge for the Canton Network. It monitors deposits on BNB Chain, settles on Canton and processes unwraps. The bridge is non-custodial.
The BNB backing CBNB is held in on-chain contracts on BNB Chain. Anyone can compare that balance with the CBNB supply on Canton, at any time.
